Bell says he's visiting Murray this month
MBB: The Class of 2025 recruit says he received a scholarship offer back in May
Melvin Bell, a 6’5 guard originally from Chicago, will be visiting Murray State on September 20th, according to Max Feldman’s post on X.
Bell, who transferred to La Lumiere High School in La Porte, Indiana for his senior season, is listed as a 3-star recruit by On3, and a 4-star prospect by both ESPN and 247 Sports. 247 Sports ranks Bell as the #112 overall national prospect in the Class of 2025.
Max Feldman is reporting Bell will be taking four visits in the coming weeks. Tomorrow, he is expected to visit Brown; he’ll travel to San Jose State on September 13th; Murray State on September 20th; and then Ball State on October 3rd.
Bell told Sam Lance of ZagsBlog.com that he’s been hearing from both Murray State Head Coach Steve Prohm and Assistant Coach Brendan Mullins. “They’ve just been on me,” Bell said. “They really like me. They really like my game, my playing style. I can fit right in because you know Ja Morant went there. I feel like I kind of mirror his game a little bit, so I’ll be able to fit in.”
At this moment, Prohm has five available scholarships left to fill for the 2025-26 season.
