Cook says he has heard from Murray State
MBB: The former VMI guard averaged 12.6 points per game last year
VMI freshman guard Tyran Cook is getting lots of attention these days in the Transfer Portal. According to The Portal Report on X/Twitter, Cook has heard from more than 35 schools, including Murray State and Belmont. Other schools reaching out reportedly include Maryland, TCU, Oklahoma State and Mississippi State.
Cook averaged 12.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game this past season for VMI. He started 23 games for the Keydets, shooting 40.8% from the floor and 34.0% from beyond the arc.
VMI was 4-28 overall this season, and 1-17 in the Southern Conference.
Wherever he ends up, Cook will have three years of eligibility remaining.
