MBB: The Racers still need two non-conference home games for this year
We’ve known that Murray State would be playing at Middle Tennessee State this season as the next game in their home-and-home series. We just didn’t know when that game will be played — until today.
Scheduling guru Rocco Miller reported Tuesday morning the Racers will travel to Murfreesboro on Saturday, November 16th to take on the Blue Raiders. This will be the 12th-straight year the old Ohio Valley Conference rivals have met. Murray State is 6-5 in the last 11 meetings, while leading the all-time series 108-38.
With this date solidified, Murray State is now just two games away from completing their non-conference schedule. The Racers are expected to ‘buy’ an opponent for one of those games, while the other should be the start of a new home-and-home series. Movement on locking down those games has been frustratingly slow so far for the Racer coaching staff. There is also no word yet on the announcement of an exhibition game for this season.
As of today, here’s what we know about Murray State’s 2024-25 non-conference schedule:
TBD — Home game
TBD — Home game
November 4 — vs. Bethel
November 8 — at Pittsburgh
November 16 — at Middle Tennessee
November 20 — vs. Maryland-Eastern Shore
December 8 — vs. Southeast Missouri State
December 14 — at Western Kentucky
December 22 — vs. Nebraska (at Diamond Head Classic)
December 23 — vs. Hawai’i or Charlotte (at Diamond Head Classic)
December 25 — vs. Oakland/Oregon State/Charleston/Loyola (at Diamond Head Classic)
Do u think they will get these two home games filled before the conference schedule comes out?
Why do u think it is taking so long to get two home games an a exhibition?
