Ford named Valley Freshman of the Week
WBB: It's the second time the Racer freshman has won this award this year
Murray State’s Haven Ford is the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Week. It’s the second time Ford has won this award this season.
The 5’6 guard from Morehead, Kentucky averaged 19.0 points and 8.5 rebounds against Illinois State and Bradley last week. Ford’s 10 rebounds against Bradley on Saturday were a career-high.
Also against Bradley, Ford was 13-for-13 from the free throw line. That’s tied for the second most made free throws without a miss in program history. The record belongs to Murray State Hall of Famer Ke’Shunan James who went 20-for-20 against Northern Kentucky on November 18th, 2017.
Ford and the Racers will take on Bradley in the opening round of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament on Thursday night in Moline.
