Jaxon Edwards transferring to Valpo
MBB: The Racer freshman entered the transfer portal March 30th
After spending his freshman season at Murray State, Jaxon Edwards announced Tuesday he’s transferring to Valparaiso to continue his playing career.
Edwards originally signed with Murray State and Matt McMahon back in November of 2021. When McMahon left Murray for LSU after the 2021-22 season, Edwards posted on social media that he’d be reopening his recruitment while keeping open the possibility of returning to Murray State. Coincidentally, one year ago today, Edwards reaffirmed his commitment to Steve Prohm and the Racer program.
Edwards never gained traction in Prohm’s rotation last season, playing just 29 minutes in 11 games of action. After entering the transfer portal March 30th, today he made his move official.
He will be joining a Valpo program that just hired a new head coach in Roger Powell. The Beacons have yet to post a winning record in Missouri Valley Conference play since joining the conference for the 2017-18 season.
