King signs with Murray State
MBB: The 6'9 big man is the second player to come from Creighton with Ryan Miller
Fred King has officially signed with Murray State to join the Racers for the 2025-26 season.
The transfer from Creighton, who is listed at 6’9 and 250 pounds, spent the last three seasons playing for the Bluejays while new Murray State head coach Ryan Miller was an assistant coach there.
"Having coached him at Creighton, I know firsthand the energy, athleticism, and competitive spirit Fred brings to the court," Miller said in a statement. "His experience guarding and learning from a player like Ryan Kalkbrenner, combined with his efficiency when given minutes, makes him a versatile big man who can impact both ends of the floor. He's ready to take on a bigger role here at Murray State, and this is a significant step in building our program."
In three years with Creighton, King played in 103 games, starting four times, while averaging 2.9 points and 7.0 minutes per game. He played behind the All-American Kalkbrenner, who has been a three-time All-Big East standout and has been named Big East Defensive Player of the Year four different times.

In his career, King has made 61.7% (127-of-206) of his shots from the field. His best game of this past season came on November 30th against Notre Dame, where he had 14 points, five rebounds and four blocks in 26 minutes of action.
