Learn named MVC Newcomer of the Week
WBB: The Purdue transfer is second on the team in scoring this season
Murray State junior forward Ava Learn is this week’s Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week.
Learn, who transferred to Murray State after playing her first two seasons at Purdue, averaged 11.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game last week in the Racers’ wins over Indiana State and Evansville.
The 6’1 forward is second on the team this season with 12.4 points per game, and third on the Racers with 5.6 rebounds a night.
Learn and the Racers are now 12-2 this season. Murray State will try to set a school record with their 12th-straight win when they travel to Northern Iowa on Friday.
