Mississippi State's Smith out until January
MBB: Murray State plays at Mississippi State December 13th
When Murray State travels to Mississippi State on December 13th, the Racers won’t need to face off with arguably the Bulldogs’ best player.
Mississippi State announced today that Tolu Smith injured his foot in a recent practice and he will be out of action until after the first of the year. Here is the statement Mississippi State Head Coach Chris Jans released today on social media:
Smith earned First Team All-SEC honors last season after averaging 15.7 points and 8.5 rebounds per game for the Bulldogs. The sixth-year senior started his career at Western Kentucky before transferring to Mississippi State after his freshman season. The 6’11 Smith has started 84 of the 85 games he’s played in a Bulldog uniform.
Mississippi State is coming off a 21-13 record last season. They earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament where they lost to Pittsburgh, 60-59, in the First Four in Dayton.
