Moore named Mid-Major Player of Year
MBB: The former Racer guard helped lead Norfolk State to the NCAA Tournament

CollegeInsider.com named Brian Moore the winner of the Lou Henson Award on Tuesday afternoon, given to the top mid-major player in the country. After playing two seasons at Murray State, Moore transferred to Norfolk State, where he helped lead the Spartans to the NCAA Tournament last month.
“Brian Moore Jr. embodies everything the Lou Henson Award represents — skill, toughness, and the heart of a true leader,” Senior Analyst of CollegeInsider.com James Wilhelmi said in a statement. “From Harlem to Norfolk State, he's proven that elite talent thrives at every level. His impact on both ends of the floor speaks for itself, and this honor is well deserved.”
The senior guard averaged a career-high 18.1 points per game this season, while shooting a career-best 39.4% from three-point range. Moore shot 54.5% from the field this year, which was the highest field goal percentage in the country for players under 6’3. He is also the only guard in the nation to average at least 18.0 points per game while making at least 54.5% of his shot (with a minimum of 20 games played.)
After starting his career at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, Moore still has one year of eligibility remaining. He entered the transfer portal after Norfolk State’s season ended, but is still yet to find a new basketball home for his final year of college basketball.
