Nichelson says she'll be a Racer
WBB: The 5'10 guard announced her commitment on X/Twitter Saturday
Murray State Head Coach Rechelle Turner has had great success in recent years in bringing some of Kentucky’s best in-state talent to Murray. It appears she has done it again.
Brooke Nichelson, a 5’11 guard in the Class of 2025, announced her commitment to Murray State on her X/Twitter page on Saturday.
Nichelson is from London, Kentucky and plays her high school basketball at North Laurel High School. Nichelson helped lead North Laurel to the last two KHSAA Region 13 championships and a pair of trips to the state tournament. She led the Lady Jaguars in scoring with 18.0 points, and also in rebounds as she grabbed 9.8 boards per game last season. Nichelson was an extremely efficient shooter, knocking down 58.5% of her shots from the field and 47.0% from beyond the three-point line.
According to her X/Twitter page, Nichelson also had scholarship offers from Western Carolina and Coastal Carolina. Prep Girls Hoops has Nichelson ranked as the #6 2025 prospect in Kentucky, and the #3 combo guard.
Nichelson joins Jaidynn Askins as players who have publicly committed to Murray State from the Class of 2025. Askins, a 6’0 forward from Jackson South Side High School in Jackson, Tennessee, committed to the Racers back in February.
