Racers' 2024 recruiting priority seems apparent
MBB: Steve Prohm is looking for future backcourt reinforcements
It has become readily apparent that any college basketball coach making concrete rosters plans beyond next year is a bit of a fool’s errand. With the currently tumultuous nature of the college game where annual roster turnover can be significant, any future roster calculations need to be made in pencil. The only “sure things” when it comes to roster building is that seniors who have exhausted their eligibility won’t be returning. Everybody else, for better or worse, is annually up in the air.
As we enter the 2023-24 season, we know Murray State Men’s Basketball Coach Steve Prohm will need to replace three graduation seniors: Rob Perry (presuming he withdraws from the 2023 NBA Draft and returns to Murray for his senior season), Quincy Anderson, and incoming grad transfer Shawn Walker, Jr. All three play the guard position, and that takes much of the guessing out of the current recruiting plan for Prohm and his staff for the Class of 2024.
