“I’ve been told several times doing the same thing over and over again and getting the same results is insanity,” Murray State Women’s Basketball Coach Rechelle Turner told me while sitting in her office earlier this week. “So we’re not going to do that. We realize we’re still not going to be big enough, strong enough, fast enough for several recruiting classes down the road. We’re going to try to find a way to offset the strengths of these other teams.”
The ‘way’ she is referring to is how her Racers will now start racing.
Turner hasn’t been shy about revealing her plans to turn her team into one that runs a lot, shoots a lot of three-pointers and will play 94-feet worth of defense. From the time the players arrived on campus to start June workouts, Turner has been pleasantly surprised by how her team is acclimating to this shift of styles.
