Racers can use 15 scholarships in 2025-26
MBB: Scholarship limit grows from 13 to 15 starting next season

In the fallout from the recent House v. NCAA settlement, many college sports will see their rosters expand next season. As part of the settlement, sports will no longer have scholarship restrictions, but instead have roster limits. While that may sound like six of one and a half-dozen of the other, the subtle change is to help eliminate future lawsuits. For men’s basketball, Division I teams are currently allowed to have 13 scholarship players, and then any additional walk-ons they want to add to their roster. Under the new rules, starting in 2025-26, the roster, and scholarship, limit will be 15 players.
