Racers still earning Mid Major poll votes
MBB: Despite loss at Pitt, Murray State is still getting votes this week
After splitting their first two games of the season last week, Murray State grabbed 12 votes in this week’s CollegeInsider.com Mid Major Top 25 poll. The Racers’ 12 votes, down from 21 votes in the preseason poll, would be good for 50th-place this week.
Two Missouri Valley Conference teams, Bradley and Northern Iowa, remain in the Top 25 despite both losing games in the last week. Bradley dropped from 4th to 7th, while UNI fell from 7th to 12th.
Drake (34th), Belmont (44th) and UIC (56th) are the other Missouri Valley teams who are earning votes in this week’s poll.
On Saturday, the Racers will travel to Murfreesboro to take on Middle Tennessee State. The Blue Raiders are 2-0 this season and are also receiving votes in this week’s poll. Their 21 votes would be good for 43rd place this week.
