Racers will travel to Pittsburgh this year
MBB: It'll be the first meeting between the two schools in 21 years
Murray State will take a trip to the ACC this season when they travel to play at Pittsburgh on November 8th. College basketball scheduling guru Rocco Miller confirmed the news today.
This will be the second-ever meeting between the two schools, and the first since December 20th, 2003 during Mick Cronin’s first season at Murray State’s head coach.
Pittsburgh finished 22-11 last year, as they advanced to the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament semifinals. They did not play in any postseason tournaments.
We are getting closer to a completed non-conference schedule for the Racers. Murray State Head Coach Steve Prohm is still looking for two home games for this upcoming season. It is expected that one of those games will be the front-end of a home-and-home series while the other will be a “buy game”. The Racers still have a road game at Middle Tennessee State on the schedule, but no date has been confirmed as of yet.
Matchups for the Diamond Head Classic, as of 9:30am on Thursday, still haven’t been released. As a reminder, that field includes Nebraska, Oregon State, Charlotte, College of Charleston, Hawai'i, Loyola Chicago and Oakland.
As of today, here’s what we know about Murray State’s 2024-25 non-conference schedule:
