Report: SIU's D'Amico will enter transfer portal
MBB: This is the first domino to fall in Carbondale after Bryan Mullins' firing
In the wake of Southern Illinois firing head coach Bryan Mullins on Friday, it’s natural to expect some roster changes heading into the offseason. That first change appears to be ready to happen.
The Portal Report (@ThePortalReport on X/Twitter) reported this morning D’Amico intends to enter the transfer portal. The portal will be open from March 18th to May 16th for schools to contact available student-athletes.
D’Amico was second on SIU in scoring this season, averaging 9.3 points per game, while shooting 42.5% from the floor and 36.4% from three-point range. The junior forward from Chicago tied a career-high with 20 points against Murray State during their February 21st game in Carbondale.
With Xavier Johnson and Trent Brown graduating, this means SIU’s top three scorers from this season will not be with the team next year.
