Simpson, Hayes confirm visits to Murray
MBB: The 2025 recruits took their official visits this past weekend
Murray State Head Coach Steve Prohm hosted a pair of official visits this past weekend as Class of 2025 recruits Trey Simpson and Dorian Hayes confirmed on social media they spent time on campus.
Simpson, a 6’7 forward from Evergreen, Alabama has now visited both Murray State and Kennesaw State. According to his official visit schedule he reposted on X, Simpson is also expected to visit Western Kentucky, Alabama A&M and Georgia Southern in next several weeks.
Simpson was the Class 3A Player of the Year in Alabama last season, after averaging 15.9 points, 9.1 rebounds and 4.3 blocks per game for Hillcrest-Evergreen High School, as he helped lead the school to their first state championship since 2006. Simpson has transferred to the DME Academy, a sports training academy in Daytona Beach, Florida, for his senior season.
On3 and 247Sports both have Simpson listed as a 3-star prospect in the Class of 2025. 247Sports lists Simpson as the #3 player in Alabama and the #46 power forward prospect nationally in this year’s recruiting class.
Hayes took a visit to Wichita State last month, and is reportedly also planning to visit UTSA and UTEP.
247 Sports has Hayes listed as a 3-star recruit and the 15th-best player in Texas in the Class of 2025. He plays for Ridge Point High School in Houston, Texas. Hayes is the son of former University of Kentucky standout Chuck Hayes.
