Trey Simpson reopening recruitment
MBB: The 6'7 forward signed with Murray State back in November
Trey Simpson, who was one of three players to sign with Murray State back in the November signing period, has announced on X he will not be coming to Murray State after Head Coach Steve Prohm was let go last week.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances my recruitment is open,” Simpson wrote on X.
The 6’7 forward from Evergreen, Alabama, was the Class 3A Player of the Year in Alabama in 2024, after averaging 15.9 points, 9.1 rebounds and 4.3 blocks per game for Hillcrest-Evergreen High School, as he helped lead the school to their first state championship since 2006. Simpson transferred to the DME Academy, a sports training academy in Daytona Beach, Florida, for this season, where he helped lead DME to an undefeated regular season.
The other two signees, Tristian Ford and Kaden Rickard, have yet to publicly comment on their playing futures.
