Turner on Poock: "Should be good to go"
WBB: The sophomore guard missed the last two games with an illness
Murray State Head Coach Rechelle Turner says she expects sophomore guard Halli Poock to be back in the lineup Friday when the Racers host Valparaiso.
Poock fell ill before Murray State’s game at Southern Illinois on Thursday, and did not travel with the team to either Carbondale or to Springfield, Missouri for Saturday’s game with Missouri State. The Racers split the two road games without Poock, but have every expectation that the team’s second-leading scorer will be in uniform on Friday night.
“Halli’s doing well,” Murray State Head Coach Rechelle Turner said. “It was just kind of a freak thing, actually, that happened. I can't go into a lot of detail, because of all the FERPA laws and everything, but, as I believe I told you, it’s something that would only happen to us — but she's back. She's doing great. I worked out with her yesterday, and she should be good to go.”
In her first year with the program, Poock is averaging 18.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. Poock is one of six players in the country this year to have that stat line.
Murray State returns to action Friday night against Valparaiso. Tip off is scheduled for 6:00pm at the CFSB Center.
What a relief!!! Glad she is feeling better!
Thank Goodness!!
