UNI's Heise has entered the transfer portal
MBB: Heise was Northern Iowa's leading scorer this season
Northern Iowa senior guard Nate Heise has entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer, according to Verbal Commits on X/Twitter.
Heise, who earned Third Team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors this season, was UNI’s leading scorer this year with 13.5 points per game, and was second on the team in rebounding with 6.1 per game. The 6’5 guard led the Panthers to a victory over Murray State, in Murray, with 24 points, ten rebounds and five assists in UNI’s 70-60 win.
Two other Panthers announced they were headed to the portal today as well. 6’6 sophomore guard Michael Duax is the first. Duax averaged 3.8 points and 2.5 rebounds this season. Joining him in the portal is 6’9 junior forward Cole Henry. Henry averaged 3.0 points and 1.8 rebounds a game this year, and he’ll have one year of eligibility remaining.
