We finally have a full schedule!
MBB: Murray State's first Valley game will be November 29th against Bradley
Weeks after getting our hands on Murray State’s non-conference schedule, this morning the Missouri Valley Conference released the 20-game conference slate. You can get a look at the Racers’ entire schedule here.
As for the conference schedule, here’s what we’ve got:
November 29th vs. Bradley
December 3rd at Illinois State
These are the two pre-Christmas conference games, and the Racers will start at home with the defending Missouri Valley Conference champion Bradley Braves. Murray State beat Bradley in the CFSB Center last season.
January 2nd vs. UIC
January 6th at Evansville
Once we get into 2024, the Racers begin the rest of their nine-week gauntlet. If the preseason prognostications are worth anything, Murray State has a chance to get off to a good start against the lower-tiered teams in the conference. Of course, as we learned last year, there are really no nights off in this league.
January 10th at Missouri State
January 14th vs. Northern Iowa
January 17th at UIC
January 21st vs. Indiana State
January 24th at Bradley
January 27th vs. Southern Illinois
January 30th vs. Illinois State
February 3rd at Northern Iowa
February 7th at Belmont
This month-long stretch is really the toughest of Murray State’s season. Back-to-back road games at Northern Iowa and Belmont will be a great test to see where this Racer team stands heading into the homestretch of the season.
February 10th vs. Evansville
February 14th vs. Missouri State
February 18th at Drake
Due to the unbalanced schedule, the Racers will only have to face Drake one time in the regular season, but they’ll need to travel to Des Moines to do it.
February 21st at Southern Illinois
February 24th vs. Valparaiso
If you believe the Racers caught a break only having to face Drake once, they certainly didn’t catch one only getting to face Valparaiso one time. The Beacons, in a complete rebuild under first-year head coach Roger Powell, are nearly a consensus pick to finish last in the Valley this year.
February 28th vs. Belmont
March 3rd at Indiana State
The final week of the regular season provides a home game against one of Murray State’s biggest rivals, and a trip to Terre Haute to try to make amends for one last season’s poorest performances.
The Missouri Valley Conference Tournament will run from March 7th-10th in St. Louis. The Racers will be trying to earn one of those top-four seeds to earn a first-round bye and advance to the tournament quarterfinals.
Now that you have a full schedule to digest, what do you think?
SIU on Jan. 27th better be Greek night!!!
Daunting to say the least
