Wimbley Jr. says he holds MSU offer
MBB: The 6'6 wing is receiving offers for both basketball and football
Dwayne Wimbley Jr., a 6’6 wing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, posted on X/Twitter that he has received an offer to play his college basketball at Murray State.
Wimbley, a prospect in the Class of 2025, is listed as a 4-star recruit by ESPN. Rivals, On3 and 247 Sports all have him listed as a 3-star prospect.
On X/Twitter, @StellarHoops wrote that Wimbley Jr. “has great rebounding instincts, athletic finisher, threat from the perimeter, isn’t phased by contact, stellar in transition, efficient, brings energy on BOTH ENDS, highly impactful on defense & makes plays for others.”
Wimbley has received attention for both his play on the basketball court and the football field. On the basketball side, he has posted on his X/Twitter account that he has received offers from Murray State, Florida State, Chicago State, Wofford, James Madison, Ohio, Mercer, Jacksonville, Florida International, Hampton, Florida Gulf Coast, Samford and Bethune-Cookman.
Last fall, Wimbley played football for the first time and picked up several scholarship offers. Wimbley posted that he will be taking an official visit to Colorado State, but also has offers from Louisville, Toledo, Liberty, Illinois State, Coastal Carolina and Florida International.
