Wizards bring in Williams for pre-draft workout
MBB: Former OVC Player of the Year is preparing to start his professional career
2022 Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year KJ Williams worked out for the Washington Wizards on Saturday, as the Wizards brought in six players this weekend for a pre-draft workout.
While Williams is not expected to hear his name called during the NBA Draft later this month, these workouts will allow teams to see him in person and hopefully lead to Williams getting a deal with a G League team.
You can watch some highlights of Williams’ workout here.
During his four years at Murray State, Williams scored 1,667 points and grabbed 888 rebounds. Williams joins Isaac Spencer and Popeye Jones as the only Racers with at least that many points and rebounds in a career. Williams earned All-OVC First Team honors three different times, including being named the 2022 OVC Player of the Year.
In his final season at LSU, Williams averaged 17.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game as he picked up All-Southeastern Conference Second Team honors.
