WKU, MTSU in top half of CUSA poll
MBB: The Racers will play both teams on the road this season
Conference USA coaches voted Western Kentucky second and Middle Tennessee fourth in the conference’s preseason poll. CUSA released the poll on Thursday.
WKU and MTSU were two of five teams that picked up first place votes in the poll.
Murray State will travel to Murfreesboro to take on MTSU on November 16th. The Blue Raiders had a pair of players earn Preseason All-Conference honors. Jestin Porter, who was named All-CUSA last season, led Middle in scoring in 2023-24 with 13.9 points per game. Camryn Weston only played two games last season before tearing his ACL and missing the rest of the year.
The Racers will play at Western Kentucky on December 14th. The Hilltoppers had Tyrone Marshall and Don McHenry earn preseason honors. Marshall averaged 8.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last season. McHenry, who picked up All-CUSA honors last year, led the team in scoring with 15.1 points per game.
