Wood closing in on 1,000 points as a Racer
MBB: He will be the 48th player in Murray State history to reach the milestone
With 17:55 left in the first half against Valparaiso, Murray State senior guard JaCobi Wood knocked down a three-pointer from the right corner. His first points of the game helped him eclipse the 1,500-point mark for his career. After two years at Belmont, Wood is now playing in his third season in a Racer uniform. While 1,500 points is a big number to hit, you could argue there is more significance to him joining Murray State’s 1,000-point club. Only 47 Racers of the past have scored 1,000 points wearing the Blue & Gold, and Wood is only 36 points shy of earning his invitation to that exclusive fraternity.
