Wood named to Henson Award Watch List

Murray State senior guard JaCobi Wood has been named to the Lou Henson Award Early Season Watch List. The Henson Award is given to the top Mid Major player in college basketball.

Wood is one of 50 players on the Early Season Watch List. The list will evolve as the season progresses. Other Missouri Valley Conference players on the watch list include Bradley’s Duke Deen and Northern Iowa’s Tytan Anderson.

In three games this season, Wood is averaging 14.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, while shooting 46.7% from the field and 45.5% from three-point range.

Wood enters Wednesday night’s home game with Maryland-Eastern Shore 212 points shy of joining Murray State’s 1,000-point club.
