WBB: The redshirt freshman is the first Racer to enter the portal this year
Murray State redshirt freshman Zoe Stewart announced on X/Twitter Tuesday morning she will be entering the transfer portal.
Stewart wrote: “First of all I want to say thank you to the coaching staff and trainers for a great two years at MSU! I also want to thank the wonderful fans for their support! With that being said, I have made the decision to enter into the transfer portal with 3 years left of eligibility.”
The product of Terre Haute, Indiana came to Murray State before the 2022-23 season. After redshirting last season, she announced her presence with authority when she finally got on the court this season. Stewart scored a career-high 19 points in the season opener at Arkansas. She scored in double-figures 12 times this year while averaging 8.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.
Stewart played in all 31 games this year, averaging 20.1 minutes a night, while shooting 39.2% from the field, 28.2% from the three-point line and 70.7% from the free throw line. Her best game of the year may have been in her return to Terre Haute, as Stewart scored 15 points and grabbed a career-high eight rebounds in Murray State’s win at Indiana State.
