I probably missed this somewhere in this, but what exactly does a student-athlete DO for the NIL collective (Blue & Gold in our case) in order to receive a payment from them, since a NIL is not a business that would want the student-athlete's NIL to promote for them? Is it that a NIL collective can reach out and "contract" with a student-athlete to come play for the school the NIL collective has as its interest, and the quid pro quo is that the student-athlete is agreeing to play for that school FOR that payment? If not, what IS the student-athlete's quid pro quo for the NIL payment? If playing IS the quid pro quo, is there a contract for that between the student-athlete and the NIL collective and can/does it have a performance basis in it?

The quid pro quo can not have anything to do with playing. In short, I had a primitive NIL deal with Rod Thomas last season when I owned my flower shop in Murray. We paid him a fee for advertising our store on his social media a certain amount of times a week. Some deals may include autograph signings or pictures or being a pitch-man for a product. There are no real guidelines other than if someone pays a player, a service needs to be returned to that someone.

I believe there would be a contract between the collective and the player, for one year, but I would need clarification on that. Those questions can be answered in the next podcast with someone from the B&G Standard.

Thank you, Jeff. The more I read from B&G's site, I can see that they are saying the same thing, no performance-based items allowed in anything NIL. Appreciate this, and looking forward the hearing more.

Jeff, are you planning to do a podcast with any of the team from Blue And Gold, to get some more NIL information?

100%. I’ll answer your other question as soon as I’m back in front of my computer.
